My Philosphy
I look at health holistically. So, what exactly is holistic health?
Holistic health considers ALL things that nourish your mind, body and soul. When we are nourished in this whole way that is when we are truly healthy.
Nourishment, as per the dictionary, means food or other support that is necessary for health, life and growth. This includes our food AND our lifestyle and when we address both of these things, we can live with a general feeling of well being.
Food can provide us with energy, mental clarity, strength, stamina, and healing, but it can also drain us of our energy, create toxicity and sickness, and leave us feeling guilty, anxious, and depressed. Think about it. We are built by food. The nutrients in the food are the raw materials needed to build our blood, bones, tissues, and organs. If our food lacks nutritional value, our body will weaken and its function will decline. My goal is to help people choose real natural whole foods that give us the life-force we need to live a flourishing life. Overly-processed and refined foods are stripped of their life-giving and healing power which can contribute to malnourishment and ill health.
Food is not the only thing that nourishes us. We are more than just physical bodies. We are emotional and spiritual beings as well. To get complete nourishment, we need to look at all the parts of our life that influence our health. Physical activity, good quality sleep, rest, laughter, sunshine, supporting relationships, a spiritual practice, etc. are all factors that affect our health and well being. You can be a raw vegan eating all organic and natural foods, but still be unhealthy and depressed because some part of your lifestyle is not in balance. Committing to daily self-care rituals, having meaningful social connections and taking out time to just slow down and breathe will take your nourishment full circle. I’m here to support you to integrate these positive changes into your life !
